On Saturday we officially finished sewing all 144 blocks! Lila’s been kind enough to offer to piece them all together, and this weekend we’re picking the border and backing. Then it’ll be time to actually start quilting – shock, awe.
I’ve been sick the last few days and when I’m not sleeping, I’m tearing through quilting magazines, finding more projects than I will ever be able to finish. The new one I am contemplating is a triple irish chain lap quilt. Because it’s a lap quilt I figure it can’t take that long to do and is therefore within reason. :p
Pictures to follow tonight. If anyone has any recommendations for colors for the irish chain quilt let me know. I’ve seen blue and green done (thanks mom :p) and orange and red, but I am not entirely sure what I am looking for….as is usually the case.

You know what’s faster than quilting…knitting.
All the cool kids are doing it.

more projects than i will ever be able to finish – story of my life. i’ve got fabric for an irish chain that i bought years ago and need to actually make someday – but it’s a beige background with a salmony-pink and dark green floral print, then a medium salmony-pink tone on tone for the outer chain and a dark green with tiny darker-salmon dots for the inner chain. pretty awesome, once i get around to it someday.
love the blog, baby!

I love the idea of purple and orange, but I know it is a bit wild. I also am not 100% on what the pattern looks like, but I’ve got a pretty good idea of what it is. I feel like the projects have been piling up as well
So many great ideas out there…
